The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) form the backbone of the Indian economy—driving innovation, generating employment, and contributing significantly to industrial output and exports. Despite their potential, many MSMEs remain unaware of the strategic value that Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) can offer to safeguard their innovations and boost competitiveness.

To bridge this critical gap, the Government of India, under the MSME Innovation Scheme, has initiated IPR support for MSMEs. As part of this initiative, the Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) has been entrusted with establishing the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) in New Delhi, supported by the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME.

FISME-IPFC offers end-to-end IP services, including patent searches, drafting, filing, litigation, and post-filing support, along with reimbursement assistance for MSMEs on patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications.

This initiative serves as a comprehensive gateway for MSMEs to access expert assistance in identifying, protecting, and managing intellectual property. From IP audits and valuation to commercialization and legal agreements, IPFC offers specialized, value-added services designed to help MSMEs leverage IPR tools for technology advancement, market expansion, and sustainable growth.
