About Us

Introduction

In the evolving global landscape, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) have become increasingly vital for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Effective IPR protection is essential for securing a competitive edge, fostering technological advancement, and driving higher economic growth in a market-driven economy. Recognizing the critical importance of IPR, particularly for India’s MSME sector, the Government of India has introduced dedicated support under the MSME Innovation Scheme. As part of this initiative, the Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) has been entrusted with establishing the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) in New Delhi, with support from the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME. The FISME-IPFC serves as a one-stop resource for MSMEs, offering expert guidance in the identification, protection, and strategic management of intellectual property. From IP audits and valuation to commercialization and legal advisory, the IPFC provides specialized, value-added services aimed at empowering MSMEs to harness IPR for technological progress, market competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

Mission

The Centre, while aiming to strengthen in general the competitiveness of MSMEs so that they can become a part of the global business community, will specifically endeavour to build greater awareness among MSMEs about IPR issues and provide insights to them on the complex mechanism of creation, ownership, and protection of Intellectual Property.

Vision

To become the coadjutor of choice for MSMEs if they want to create, manage and protect their IP portfolios so as to successfully tackle the challenges posed by the rules and regulations of international trade stemming from such bodies and frameworks as the WTO and TRIPS.
